Today, Elza Moses officially turns 100. Last Sunday, the community of Tiskilwa came out to wish him a happy birthday and congratulations as he and his wife, Vivian, celebrated their 78th Anniversary. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Elza or his wife but consider myself fortunate to live in a community where there there is so much support for people who reach such a milestone. It's such a noteworthy acheivement to live that long and have such a youthful outlook on life. Happy Birthday Elza! |

On August 31st this year, the TCA sponsored a movie in the Park at the West Park in Tiskilwa. The movie was Field of Dreams. The conditions were perfect as far as the weather goes. It was a really nice evening to watch a movie. It would be nice if this could become a regular thing for the TCA. Thank you TCA for doing something like that when there is nothing else really going on. |

Tiskilwa's Pow Wow Days 2008 went off without a hitch. The events were kicked off with the King and Queen Pagent on Thursday night followed by the Beer Garden sponsored by the Tiskilwa Community Association. |

It's 2008 and in case you haven't heard, there is a general election taking place this November. We have two candidates that are courting your vote to become the next President. It matters not who you are planning to vote for. It only matters that you vote. Whether you are interested in voting for Barack Obama or John McCain, as a country, we only win if everyone that can vote, votes for who they think will do the most good for our country as a whole. |

Jared Piacenti informed this website recently that the TCA has established a presence on the internet wanted to let the visitors of this site know about it. From Jared: "The TCA now has a mini web page that has the information and sign-up sheets for the 2008 Lil' Spurs Rodeo.
